Abstract
Iodination of FcC ≡ CH with morpholinium iodide gave structurally characterized iodoethynylferrocene, FcC ≡ CI; its reaction with Co2(CO)8 affords {Co2(CO)6}2(µ:µ-FcC2C2Fc), also characterized by an X-ray structure determination. This compound is formed by deiodinative coupling of the iodoalkyne and subsequent addition of a Co2(CO)6 group to each C ≡ C triple bond in the resulting diyne.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH99024
