The Rate Constant for the Recombination of Trifluoromethyl Radicals

Abstract

The rotating sector data reported by Ayscough for the recombination of CF₃radicals have been analysed by means of a method which takes into account all first-order radical removal processes, including CF₃ radical addition to CF₃COCF₃, the radical source. The rate constant obtained, (1.48 ± 0.50)×10¹³ cm³ mol^-1 s^-l, is substantially lower than the value originally reported.
