Abstract
The stereochemistry of the 8,9-epoxy-p-menth-1-enes has been unambiguously determined by relating them to the corresponding p- menth-1-ene-8,9-diols( uroterpenol ) of known configuration. Mild conditions for the hydrolysis of epoxides with hydroxide ion are described.
