Polyhalogenated Monoterpenes of the New Zealand Marine Red Alga Plocamium cartilagineum

Abstract

A series of polyhalogenated monoterpenes have been isolated from the New Zealand marine red alga Plocamium cartilagineum (L.) Dixon. These findings are in contrast to the previously reported finding of a hydroxy bisnor monoterpene from a morphologically similar sample of P. cartilagineum collected from the same area.
