The configurations of the trans-Camphane-2,3-diols

Abstract

The originally postulated configurations of camphane-2-endo,3-exo- and -2-exo,3-endo-diols, which were recently claimed to be incorrect, have been confirmed by the use of ¹³C n.m.r. spectroscopy and by the X-ray crystal structure analysis of the dibenzoate of camphane-2-endo,3-exo-diol.
