Chemistry of pyrrolic compounds. LI. Porphyrins with electron-withdrawing groups in the same pyrrolic ring: preparation of a pyridazinoporphyrin

Abstract

The preparation and properties of porphyrins bearing electron-withdrawing groups in the same pyrrolic ring are described. The principal example studied is a diformylporphyrin and this has been used to prepare a porphyrin containing a fused pyridazine ring. The properties of this novel system are discussed.
