Abstract
Phosphorus-31 and cadmium-113 n.m.r, techniques have been used to investigate the formation, in solution, of some cadmium(I) complexes CdA2(phos)n [where A = ClO4-, NO3-, CH3COO-, Cl-, Br-, I- and phos = PBu3, P(C6H11)3]. The effective coordination number of the cadmium atom is dependent on the nature of the phosphine and of the anion A and ranges from two to five in dichloromethane solution.
