Abstract
The nucleophile N,N´-dimethyl-N,N´-diphenylethene-1,1-diamine (3) reacted with simple 1,4-quinones and related compounds to give highly conjugated enediamines. These products resultedfrom 1 : 1-addition processes under conditions where reactions of 1,1-dialkoxyethenes proceeded by 1 : 2-addition.
