The stereochemistry of organometallic compounds. XX. The stereochemistry of formation of (1-3-η)-PdCl complexes from Deutero-substituted1-acetyl-4-t-butylcyclohex-1-enes

Abstract

The preparation and assignment of stereochemistry of some deutero-substituted 1-acetyl-4-t-butyl- cyclohex-1-enes is described. The formation of (1-3-η)-PdCl complexes from these compounds is accompanied by a non-stereoselective loss of H and D, in agreement with a mechanism of formation which involves an initial palladium-assisted enolization of the ketone.
