Abstract
Tryptophan peptides have been obtained from the corresponding benzyloxycarbonyl peptide 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl esters by catalytic hydrogenation. Associated reference peptides were also prepared from 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl precursors by either hydrogenation or acidic cleavage of the protecting groups.
