Bis-s-triazolo[1,5-a:1',5'-c]pyrimidine and some simple derivatives

Abstract

A general synthetic route to the new tricyclic system bis-s-triazolo[1,5-a: 1',5'-c]pyrimidine, is reported. Thus the parent heterocycle (11a) is prepared from the key bicyclic intermediate, s-triazolo[1,5-c]pyrimidin-5-ylamine (7a), through the corresponding 5- dimethylaminomethyleneamino (8a), 5-hydroxyaminomethyleneamino (9a) and 5-acetoxyaminomethyleneamino (10a) derivatives, followed by final cyclization. Its 8-methyl (11b), 8-phenyl (11c), 5-methyl (11d), 5,8-dimethyl (11e) and 5-methyl-8-phenyl (11f) derivatives are prepared rather similarly. Structures are confirmed by n.m.r. spectra.
