Abstract
A series of 21 poly(pyrazolyl)borate complexes of copper(I) have been prepared either (i) from reactions between the appropriate carbonyl derivatives, Cu(CO)[(pz)3BR](R = H or pz) or Cu(CO)[(Me2pz)3-BH], and donor ligands, L, or (ii) from reactions between copper(I) chloride, L, and the appropriate poly(pyrazolyl)borate anion [H2B(pz)2-,ph2B(pz)3-, HB(pz)3-, HB(Me2pz)3- or B(pz)4-]. Complexes containing L = CO, PEt3, P(C6H4Me)3 (C6H4Me = o-, m- or p-tolyl), As(C6H4Me-p)3,P(OMe)3, P(OMe)3 (OPh)3, dppm, dppe, diars, MeC(CH2PPh2)3 or ButNC are described. Most contain four-coordinate copper(I), although the bis(pyrazolyl)borate complexes are formally three-coordinate.
