Abstract
Molybdenum and tungsten nitrosyl complexes with dithiocarbamato ligands have been prepared and characterized by analysis, and 1H n.m.r, and infrared studies. The molybdenum complexes are formulated as seven-coordinate species [Mo(NCO)L(S2CNEt2)2NO]- (L = Cl-, N3-, NCS-),{Mo(NCO)(S2CNEt2)2NO}2N2H4 and [Mo(NCO)B(S2CNEt2)2NO](B = NH3, pyridine). Likely stereochemistries are discussed. New tungsten complexes have been prepared by photochemical reactions of cis-[W(S2CNEt2)2(NO)2] to give [WL2(S2CNEt2)2NO]-, [WL(S2CNEt2)2(Me2SO)NO](L = NCO-, N3-, NCS-) and [W(NCO)(S2CNEt2)2(MeCONMe2)NO]. Assignments for the nitrosyl infrared bands in cis-[MO(S2CNEt2)2(NO)2] and [Mo(NCO)(S,CNEt2)2(Me2SO)NO] havebeen made by using 15NO labelled ligands.
