Abstract
Electrolytic oxidation of 2,5-dihydroanisoles in an undivided cell leads initially to the corresponding aromatic compounds, which in some cases undergo further oxidation. Half-wave potentials have been measured for the dihydroaromatic and the aromatic derivatives, and a reaction mechanism based on these data is proposed.
