The conformations as solutes of 2-Halogenomethyl- and 2-Cyanomethyl-oxirans

Abstract

Electric dipole moments and molar Kerr constants are reported for the substituted oxirans (A; X = H, F, Cl, Br, I or CN). The data are analysed to obtain information on the relative abundances of conformational forms, each of which has a staggered arrangement of the CH₂X and oxiran groups.
