Oxidation of alkoxyphenols. XXI. Oxidative cross-coupling of phenols to unsymmetrical Biphenyl-2,2'-diols

Abstract

Oxidation of several binary mixtures of 4-substituted 2-t-butylphenols by potassium ferricyanide gave unsymmetrical biphenyl-2,2'-diols. The structures of several new oxepino[2,3-b]benzofurans are reported.
