Reassignment of the ¹³C N.M.R. parameters of the 2-Phenylbicyclo[2,2,1]-hept-2-yl cation

Abstract

Three of the seven carbon resonances, namely C5, C6 and C7, in the ¹³C N.M.R. spectrum of the 2-phenylbicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-yl cation skeleton have been reassigned by consideration of the fine structure of the off- resonance decoupled spectrum, and comparison with the spectra of 2- aryl-1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-yl cations and the 3-deutero- 2-phenylbicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-yl cation.
