Abstract
The reactions of 2-unsubstituted 1-pyrroline 1-oxides with sulphene and phenylsulphene (generated by the action of triethylamine on methane- and phenylmethane-sulphonyl chloride respectively) afford (1-pyrrolin- 2-yl)methanesulphonic acids, presumably via an intermediate cycloadduct. These iminosulphonic acids can be hydrogenated to the related (1-pyrrolidin-2-yl)methanesulphonic acids.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9771573
