Abstract
Extraction of gum accroides (probably derived from trees of the Xanthorrhoea genus) afforded 4?- hydroxy-4-(4-hydroxyphenylethenyl)-7- methoxyflavan and 4?-hydroxy-4-(4-hydroxyphenylethenyl)- 5,7- dimethoxyflavan, which belong to a new class of flavonoids. (2S)-4?- Hydroxy-7-methoxyflavanone and the new (2S)-3?,5,5?-trihydroxy-4?,7- dimethoxyflavanone have been also isolated, together with 2?,4- dihydroxy-4?-methoxychalcone and 2?,4,4?-trihydroxychalcone.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9770873
