Abstract
The use of rotating zinc cylinders in a kinetic study of the diffusion- controlled displacement reaction between zinc metal and copper(II) ions is reported. It is found that the results are a good fit to the empirical equations which have been previously established for mass transport to a rotating cylinder. Some limitations to the technique are noted, including an effect which becomes more pronounced as the cylinder length is reduced.
