The thermal decomposition of ethyl chloroformate

Abstract

Elimination of ethylene from ethyl chloroformate at 286-353º follows the rate equation: ke = 1012,64exp(-183600/8.314T) S-1 and is homogeneous and molecular. We consider the production of ethyl chloride to be heterogeneous.
