Abstract

Elimination of ethylene from ethyl chloroformate at 286-353º follows the rate equation: k_e = 10^12,64exp(-183600/8.314T) S^-1 and is homogeneous and molecular. We consider the production of ethyl chloride to be heterogeneous.
