Abstract
Trifluoroacetic acid catalyses the decomposition of 2,2-dimethoxypropane into methyl isopropenyl ether and methanol at 224-291º with rate: k2 = 1014,30 exp(-94980/8.314T) s-l ml mol-l The products recombine on being condensed together. The order of catalytic effectiveness is: HBr > CF3COOH > HC1 » CH3COOHhttps://doi.org/10.1071/CH9760685
