Thio derivatives of β-diketones and their metal chelates. XX. Magnetic moments of some ruthenium(III) chelates of fluorinated Monothio-β-diketones

Abstract

Magnetic data have been obtained for ruthenium(III) chelates of the fluorinated monothio-β-diketones RC(SH)=CHCOCF₃ (R = 2-thienyl, β- naphthyl, Ph,p-MeC₆H₄, m-MeC₆H₄, m-ClC₆H₄, m-BrC₆H₄).The compounds are low-spin (S = 1/2) with moments in the range 1.68-1.84 B.M. at room temperature; the moments decrease with decrease in temperature.
