Abstract
Nitration of toluene by acetyl nitrate has been conclusively shown not to lead to the formation of phenylnitromethane as previously claimed. Implications of this result on the kT/kB ratio are discussed. The thermolysis reactions of phenylnitromethane have been investigated.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9750385
