Abstract
The light petroleum extract of the leaves of Callistemon lanceolatus yielded ursolic and oleanolic acid together with uvaol, while the ether extract afforded 2α-hydroxyursolic acid and a new triterpenetriol identified as 2α-hydroxyuvaol. The methanol extract contained glucose and sucrose and a mixture of saponins, acid hydrolysis of which yielded 2α-hydroxyursolic acid and 2α-hydroxyuvaol as aglycones.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9750221
