Abstract
No phenols could be isolated from the woods of nine Proteaceae species, but eight others yielded mixtures of 5-n-alk(en)ylresorcinols. Two of these also contained substances of the striatol type. Cardwellia sublimis gave a high yield of (-)-bornesitol.Syntheses of 5-heptadecylresorcinol, bilobol and some degradation products of 5-n-alkenylresorcinols are described.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9740345
