Abstract
A 14N N.M.R. study of the exchange of acetonitrile on high-spin Co(triol)(MeCN)32+ (kex = (23 ± 2) x 104 s-1 at 298 K; ΔH? = 40 ± 2 kJ mol-1; ΔS? = -9.6 ± 6.2 J mol-1 K-1), high-spin Co(trenol)(MeCN)~2+ (kex ≥ 2-x 106 s-l at 223 K), and low-spin Co(cyclam)(MeCN)n2+ (where it is considered that n = 1 or 2 and kex ≥ 8 x 106 s-1 at 266 K) is reported, as are the magnetic moments and visible spectra of these complex ions.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9740097
