The chemistry of pyrrolic compounds. XXIII. β-Aminoporphyrins and their derivatives

Abstract

Some aspects of the chemistry of β-aminopyrroles are described including reactions which lead to derivatives of β-aminoporphyrins. This type of tetrapyrrole has also been obtained from oxime derivatives of β-acetylporphyrins by way of a Beckmann rearrangement. Hydrolysis of the P-acetylaminoporphyrins gives the corresponding aminoporphyrins which are stable enough to be examined spectroscopically.
