Abstract
A range of molybdenum(1V) complexes of the type Mo(che1ate)2X2 have been prepared where (chelate) = N-substituted salicylaldimine, acetylacetone, and 8-hydroxyquinoline; X = halogen. They can be prepared by direct substitution of chlorine from MoCl4(MeCN)2 by a chelating group or by oxidative substitution of MoX3py3. The magnetic and spectroscopic properties of these six-coordinate d2 complexes are discussed.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9720705
