Abstract
The gas-phase pyrolyses of 10α- (1) and 10β-pinan-2-ol (2), and 2-hydroxy-10β- pin-3-ene (17) are described. The effect of the introduction of a Δ3 double bond on the course of the reaction and the mode of formation of the products is discussed.
