Abstract
The specific conductance of pure fused lead bromide has been measured in the temperature range 373-810°. The conductance is expressed by (a) a quadratic function of temperature, and (b) a modified Arrhenius function. Interionic friction coefficients have been evaluated and the applicability of the Nernst-Einstein equation examined. The variation with temperature of the friction coefficients and of departures from the Nernst-Einstein equation are examined in the light of possible structural models for the fused salt.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9711581
