Abstract
The preparation is reported of a number of 1,19-dimethyl-1,19-dideoxybilenes-b and 1,19-dimethyl-1,19-dideoxybiladienes-ac which carry electronegative substituents. These linear tetrapyrroles can be cyclized to porphyrins in good yield by means of copper acetate in pyridine solution.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9711027
