Abstract
The first xanthates of titanium have been prepared from cp2TiCl (cp = π-cyclo-pentadienyl) and NaS2COR (R = CH3, C2H2, n-C3H7, n-C4H9, and n-C5H11) in air-free water under inert atmosphere. The trivalent titanium complexes are blue in colour, monomeric, and extremely sensitive to oxygen, with one unpaired electron per titanium atom. They are believed to be of the form (See diagram in article) with bidentate xanthato ligands, analogous to the corresponding dithiocarbamates.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9700469
