Reductive acetylation of an aurone: Formation of a dimeric product

Abstract

Reductive acetylation of 4,6,3',4'-tetramethoxyaurone gave a dimer, considered from spectroscopic evidence to be 1,2-di(3-acetoxy-4,6-dimethoxybenzofuran-2-yl)- 1,2-di(3,4-dimethoxypheny1)ethane.
