Abstract
The biosynthesis of acridone alkaloids has been investigated in Acronychia baueri and Evodia xanthoxyloides. Anthranilic acid, N- methylanthranilic acid (XI), acetate, and 4-hydroxy-N-methylquinol-2- one (X) are incorporated, and tryptophan appears not to be. Evidence for the existence of (II), (X), (XI), and N-acetylanthranilic acid as metabolites of anthranilic acid in Acronychia baueri is presented. The later, hydroxylation, stages have not yet been clarified.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9692627
