Abstract
Traohyphyllin, a new coumarin occurring in Eriostemon trachyphyllus, has been shown to have structure (I) mainly on spectroscopic evidence. Also present in the tree are α-pinene, ethyl valerate, eugenol, methyleugenol, the coumarins bergapten and xanthoxyletin, and the alkaloid edulinine. The nitration and bromination reactions of xanthoxyletin are discussed.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9692175
