The effect of thiourea and formaldehyde treatment on the chemical analyses of wool. I. Tryptophan, thiol, and disulphide analyses

Abstract

Conventional chemical analyses for tryptophan, thiol, and disulphide give erroneous results when applied to wool that has been treated with thiourea and form-aldehyde. This work presents data on such analyses and discusses the origins of the interference.
