Abstract
Complexes of copper(II) with 2-acetamidopyridine (acpy) and with 2- methyl-pyridine-6-carboxylic acid (mepiac-H) have been prepared. The compounds studied included [Cu(acpy)2Cl2], [Cu(acpy)2Br2], [Cu(acpy)2(NCS)2], [Cu(acpy)2(NO3)2], [Cu(acpy)2(H2O)ClO4]ClO4,H2O, [Cu(mepiac)(mepiac-H)Cl], [Cu(mepiac)(mepiac-H)-Br], [Cu(mepiac)(mepiac-H)BrH2O], and [Cu(mepiac)2H2O]. The magnetic properties, conductances, reflectance and solution spectra, as well as infrared spectra, are in agreement with the copper(II) complexes of acpy being six-coordinate and those of mepiac-H having a five- coordinate structure.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9691835
