Trispentafluorophenylsilane and trispentafluorophenylsilyl-metal derivatives. Preparation, and infrared and mass spectra

Abstract

Trispentafluorophenylsilane has been prepared and characterized. The silane has been used to prepare the monohalides, (C₆F₅)₃SiX (X = Cl, Br), as well as the disiloxane, (C₆F₅)₃Si-O-Si(C₆F₅)₃. The silane has also been found to react with the binuclear metal carbonyls Co₂(CO)₈ and M₂(CO)₁₀ (M = Mn, Re) to yield the silyl-metal derivatives. We report the preparation and infrared and mass spectra of these compounds, and their reactivity towards triphenylphosphine.
