Abstract

The empirical equation, P = aRn+b, where P is the parachor, R the Lorentz-Lorenz refraction, and a, b, and n are constants, has been applied in the present instance to the calculation of R for bonds involving the elements of Groups IVB-VIIB when linked to themselves.
