Abstract
The following complexes have been described for the first time: [InX2 dimphen2]X, [InX2 amq2]X, and [InX2 mamq2]X; where dimphen is 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, amq is 8- aminoquinoline, mamq is 2-methyl-8-aminoquinoline, and X is Cl, Br, I. The complexes behaved as uni-univalent electrolytes in N,N?- dimethylformamide. Conductances were measured of complexes of 2- acetamidopyridine (prepared for the first time), 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2?-bipyridyl, 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline, and 2,2?,2?-terpyridyl; i.e. [In acpy3]X3, [In phen3]X3, [In bipy3]X3, [In nitphen3]X3, and [In terpy2]X3 respectively. The results of these measurements were much less than the expected values and some degree of halide bonding is indicated, particularly in the case of the iodide complexes.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9671859
