Dielectric relaxation: Some phenols, anisoles, and acetylbenzenes as solutes

Abstract

Dielectric relaxation measurements on 2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenol, 2,4,6- tri-bromophenol, 2,4,6-trichloroanisole, 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, acetophenone, 2,4,6-trimethylacetophenone, 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3- diacetylbenzene, and 1,4-diacetyldurene, as solutes in benzene or carbon tetrachloride, are reconcilable with the average conformations deduced previously^1-3 for those molecules from experimental molar Kerr constants and dipole moments.
