Molecular polarizability: The molar Kerr constants of diazoaminobenzene and four of its derivatives.

Abstract

The molar Kerr constants of diazoaminobenzene and its 4,4'-dimethyl, 4,4'-clichloro, 4,4'-dibromo, and 4-nitro derivatives at infinite dilution in benzene at 25º are recorded. No abnormalities in the molar Kerr constant-concentration curves due to dimeric association can be found with any of the above solutes.
