The circular dichroism and rotatory dispersion of cobalt(III) oxalatoacetylacetonato and oxalato-glycinato complexes

Abstract

The preparation, resolution, circular dichroism, and spectra of the complexes, sodium bis(oxalato)acetylacetonatocobaltate(III), sodium oxalatobis(acetylacetonato)cobaltate(III), and sodium bis(oxalato)glycinatocobaltate(III) are described. The configurations of the ions are discussed relative to the tris(oxalato)- and tris(ethylenediamine)-cobalt(III) ions of known configurations.
