Reactions of NN-diphenylcarbamoyl chloride. I. With amino acids and small peptides

Abstract

NN-Diphenylcarbamoyl chloride reacts with a wide variety of amino acids and small peptides in presence of base to give good yields of crystalline derivatives. Since L-amino acids give optically active derivatives, the reagent promises to be of value for the characterization of amino acids.
