Abstract
Reaction of trimethylaluminium with triethylaluminium to give dimethylethylaluminium and methyldiethylaluminium is complete within a few seconds in mixtures of benzene with ether or tetrahydrofuran at 40°. Reaction in pyridine occurs more slowly and requires several minutes at 90°.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9651183
