Abstract
If the spectra of the initial and final species are known, rate constants for the system, A ↔ B → C, can be evaluated from spectrophotometric measurements. This can be done most easily by using wavelengths at which the initial and final substances have the same extinction coefficients. The method is illustrated by application to a kinetic study of the Dimroth rearrangement.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9650471
