Abstract
Trifluoroiodomethane reacts with triethyl-phosphine, -arsine, and -stibine forming derivatives of the type (C2H5)2MCF3 together with (C2H5)4MI, while pentafluoroiodoethane reacts with trimethyl-phosphine, -arsine, and -stibine giving derivatives of the form (CH3)2MC2F5 together with (CH3)4MI. The infrared spectra of the compounds are presented and the mechanism of the reaction discussed.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9640030
