Abstract
Eriostemon tomentellus contains an acid, eriostemoic acid whose structure has been shown to be (II). The same acid has been isolated from Geleznowia verrucosa and E. thryptomenoides. Evidence is presented for intramolecular charge-transfer complexes in eriostyl and eriostemyl 3,5-dinitrobenzoates. The structure of franklinone has been confirmed by a synthesis of tetrahydro-franklinone.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9630123
