Abstract
The rates and Arrhenius parameters for the acid-catalysed hydrolyses of tertiary amyl 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoate and benzoate and α-methylallyl 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoate, benzoate, and acetate in aqueous acetone imply that reaction occurs by mechanism AALl for the former group and that a transition from mechanism AALl to AAC2 occurs between the benzoate and acetate in the latter series.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9620757
